Golf Environment

Everytime I watch golf, I get the feeling not only with their shots but the environment as well, the well green grass and the clear blue skies made the sport such a popular among those who enjoy nature at its fullest, there are many golfkurse around the world, they have their own characteristics and it is unique according to their location and weather, there are different types range the course formation.

Golf can have both a positive and negative impact on the environment. The negative effects include carbon dioxide emissions generated by people travelling to and from the golf course, the use of fertiliser containing nitrogen and phosphorus causing eutrophication in nearby watercourses, pesticides leaching into watercourses and the ground water, high energy consumption and the generation of significant quantities of waste.

But these environmental problems can be reduced, provided that they are noted and incorporated into the planning process. The Nordic golf unions are ensuring that new knowledge is produced through research, and that this knowledge is used in the planning and maintenance of golf courses. The location and design of golf courses has an impact on the environment, and conflicts of interest may arise between the owners and those representing countryside and cultural values, residential development and open-air recreation. If environmental sustainability is considered at the planning stage, the negative impact can be reduced. Many areas of a course, e.g. water courses and woodland areas, can house a varied flora and fauna, and this can be encouraged further. Greens, tees and fairways can also become areas of great biodiversity through responsible management.

If you want to enhance your golfing skills, you got to have the right materials for the job, the Golfreisen Offers different kind of golf accessories and a chance to learn golf, it is not that bad because you will get a professional help from a golf trainer. It is good especially if you are having problems enhancing your golfing skills or just want to show of to your friends.

They also have this Golfshop that offers golfers with their choices of different golfing accessories and apparels , If you want to lift up your game to the highest level then you got to have the best gadgets and accessories to use

Most Popular Blog Widgets

Blogging has never been so popular today and the need of spreading the news and your blog is getting popular these days, there are already many tools around there in promoting blogs and getting as much traffic as possible and one of the most popular tools are online/social bookmarking widgets and also help in the SERP.

Widgets work like displaying a particular post post/blog in a container that is related to your blog or topic, it is like an external link but it revolves around the blog/site with that particular widget, your site will post automatically to another site with the same widget depending on what community you are in or a member with.

These sites offer the most popular blog widgets today and most of all, they are free. (My preference).

1. Blogrush

Pros: This is one of the that dominate the widget market today, their services are good and generate good topic in terms of publishing blogs. It is easy to join and it is free. The blogs or links they generate are of good quality, It needs approval before it can be approved.

Cons: You cannot edit the widget layout, to few accessiblity to its fellow users, like communities, social bookmarkings. Few options to choose to promote in its members.

2. Blog Catalog

Pros: It is the most popular social networking site and widget today. Its growth is quite phenomenal. According to Alexa, BlogCatalog traffic has superseded Yahoo's own MyBlogLog. BlogCatalog is currently ranked at 1,151 and an estimated to have 100,000 or more visitors. There are currently 73,000 blogs currently registered on BlogCatalog. It also has a PageRank of 7 which shows its authority on Google.

Cons: To many menus/buttons, confusing to beginners (sorry thats all I can say).

3. MyBlogLog

Pros: It is a social bookmarking that is getting popular fast and as result bought by google for 10 million dollars, It has a very good interface when it comes to customizing widgets and it is easy to use, a lot of traffic is also generated and has a lot of community to choose from

Cons: Its popularity is declining for unknown reasons, maybe the competition is getting rough or many are switching to other widgets, it is not as consistent as mentioned above. It is free but the features are not as full as the payed account.

Here you go, these are my list, there are still more out there and appearing in the web, it will help a lot in SEO your pages, just be careful in putting widgets as it may or sometimes affect the loading times of some blogs, but its still feasible if you want to have a high traffic in the blogosphere.

Reality TV-Why can't we stop watching

When people talk about television these days, they're talking about Reality TV. It's dominating the tube right now. We’ve got Survivor, Fear Factor etc, The Apprentice, The Amazing Race, American/Pinoy Idol, Pinoy Big Brother, Pinoy Dream Academy and many more.

Topics like who was picked by the Bachelor and who was dump by the Bachelorette, who was Hot and who was thrown off the Island. The viewing public's fascination with these shows is growing at a rate matched only by the number of them in production.

But why reality? Whats behind the popularity and the boom. Here are the lists.

1. Money - "Theres no trick", these shows are really cheap in terms of production. Say for example before the show "Friends" is one of the highest rated show on television, earning millions in advertising. But each of the six actors gets paid $1 million per episode compared to 'Survivor' gets ratings almost as high and doesn’t come with those costs.

2. We're Voyeurs- these shows erased the boundaries between the public and the private. Anybody whose been deliberately eavesdropped on a conversation in a train or in a room or any places is going to relate to these shows "We're a curious species I should say"

3. Genuinely Surprising - People get to be amazed the twist and turns in the show, especially when there are challenges or tests in the contestants or people in the show, it creates an adrenaline rush to viewer and wanting to wait and see what’s gonna happen next.

4. "thank-God-its-not-me" mentality- These shows can display a lot things and happenings which is particularly related to our daily lives, the dating aspect for example where , viewers can say they already been there but relieved that they are not the ones rejected or embarrassed themselves in national television.

Well, that’s for my list so far, I know there are other reasons behind the camera. But whether we like it or not, more of these types of shows are gonna be made and seen in the future.

Philippine Earthquake Tomorrow

This morning I've receive a text that there will be an Earthquake that will hit the Philippines tomorrow July 18, 2008. As usuall I am skeptical about the text (as if I've received enough pranks). I was intrigued because some of my friends told me the same thing and somehow they are certain that there will be an earthquake!.

I research the internet about it and found out that it is circulated through emails, A Brazilian psychic Jucelino Nóbrega da Luz has allegedly predicted that there will be a magnitude 8.1 earthquake (closely similar to China) will occur that will cause destruction and countless deaths.

"According to the e-mails being circulated, this psychic purportedly predicted, among others, Princess Diana’s death. His alleged prophesy has been posted and reposted in various blogs, inviting discussions about its authenticity."-source(ABS-CBN)

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) did not believe the prediction and everyone warned not to believe immediately in this kind of predictions.

For me its just another person out there trying to have publicity and popularity, better not believe them immediately, rather, being prepared is not bad and the important is to pray for safety and protection and always trust HIS will for us.

Posting A Blog Topic

Originality is the keyword here, any topic you choose can be a topic of another blog, but the different thing here is creativity, it takes a single blogger to write his OWN opinion or ideas and It is rarely duplicated by anyone. I have seen blogs that are copied from other blogs as in word per word. It is okay to rephrase a certain topic or article but then you must add your own opinion or something to make it more active.

The great thing is that everyone and I mean anyone can comment or respond to your post (except when you change settings). But the purpose here is to show the world or internet world that you exist and there is always a story to tell and other opinions to that topic.

Who cares if the feedbacks/comments are bad and spam, some might send harsh or dirty words. It is all part of blog game. Credibiliy here is important . The originality or genuinity of a topic can establish you as a true blogger and can go far far away in the blogging realm.

Dial-up Connection Experience

Being online is very important to me this days as it is not only part of my work but rather a way of connection to my friends, classmates, cousins, fellow bloggers,n relatives and everyone I knew.

Of course, how the internet perform is very important, believe it or not, I am posting this blog right now using a Dial-up connection. I have this Dial-connection for more than five years, I didnt bother getting a DSL or Broadband Connection, It just that I get used to it.(at least I can still post to blogger), but I have been thinking in getting an DSL or Broadband. I dont know if it is worth it. I'm not fond of downloading videos or music, I only check my emails, blogs, and chat a bit. I dont really see it an urgency to have a very fast connection.

Come to think of it, this connection saved me lot of trouble especially in my student years (that wasn't a long time ago you know). If it hadn't for this connection, I wouldn't have graduated in my computer course,right?...("silence"),hmmm..okay, some might not agree with me...I know someday I've got to move on and transfer to more civilized way of connecting online (Im not that primitive looking you know..haha). I really would like to type/post more but my dial-up prepaid account is almost out, (damn limited internet). Anywayz, thats all for today, little quote for you. :-)

"Just be thankful of your internet connection even sometimes it stinks because there are people (like yours truly) who have slower internet connections than you" Bow

Rapidshare Search

Sharing files has been very common for those who want to get information about certain things, the thing is that there are those who share false links , corrupted files or worst share a virus. That's why I am very particular when searching for files online, I must make sure that the source of my downloaded files is trusted and known to many. Many websites today offer hosting for uploading files and share it online. So it is wise to choose the trusted site. It is very difficult to upload your files and getting corrupted in the process.

The Rapidshare Search is one of the most trusted file sharing today, not only their files are secured, you can also filter out your searches to required options. It is already proven and used by millions of users. You can find anything you want from movies, games, applications, softwares , wallpapers, designs and almost anything you can think.

New Wimbledon Champion

Roger Federer(1) Rafael Nadal(2)
I thought I was gonna be late for work this day, if it hadn't for the epic battle I have watched last night the epic battle between the reigning world #1 Roger Federer and world #2 Rafael, I was amazed how these players battle it out through the whole match.

Honestly, I was sad for Roger, really, (I'm a Roger Federer fan). But everything has an end. Nadal Defeated the current Wimbledon Champion in five sets. I thought I cannot sleep because of more than hour match between these two, the longest time ever played in Wimbledon.

Nadal ended Federer's 5 straight Wimbledon title, well Nadal deserves the win though, There are losers here, they both give their best, the fans love and myself. It is already considered by many the greatest match of all time.

Blogger Vs Wordpress

The two top and the most popular blogging services offered in the web today. I just can't help to think on which of which is better. I admit that I used wordpress as first my blog.

*The reason is that Wordpress is much more customizable blog (Which is good for more technical bloggers), you can adjust just almost every part of your blog, It has also many features/widgets to choose from.

The interface is also good especially in the categories and tag together. The downside is that layout is limited which is sad.

*But I have seen Blogger improve its layout interface especially in the comment form. Indexing is also easy as it is owned by no other than the undisputed king of Search Engines Google(Sorry yahoo). The interface is simple even if your not an IT person. And most importantly one of most important widget of all the Adsense (probably) can be added easily in the blog

These are just my opinion. (who cares anyway..lolz). As far is blogging are concerned, I would probably go to Blogger (Not because I'm currently in blogger), But I speak not only in Blogging but the whole blogging market which I say it is has the bigger in the world wide web and source of information as well.

Virtual or Online Friends

Ever since I was introduced to computers, I have known different people from around the world. Come to think of it. If I count my number of friends online and friends in the real world. The number of online friends is catching up fast.

Many are using the Internet all over the world. Not only are they using it for finding information, they are also using the Internet as a way to meet new people and to make new friends. The Internet allows people from all over the world to talk about their lives and to form new relationships with each other through social networking sites, blogs, forums and more.

Virtual friends can serve many different purposes in your life. One is treat your online/virtual friend as merely a friend, while some see them as a love interest and even of you have boyfriends or girlfriends online (usually popular in the States, but also increasing here in the Philippines).

Though some get lucky meeting that special someone online but it is rare and usually the it is not lasting. It is best to prefer people you actualy meet and talk in person as there is a huge difference in just sitting imagining someone you havent met. So becareful when meeting people online and always consider security and safety for both online users.

Another Day In The Office

Work has been important to me since I get this this job, When I was in college , I've been working hard even my schedules very tight. I remember the first time I was hired as a part time employee, I got all excited because it is my first job, I really amazed myself that I can do study and work.

Even when there is a project in school, I can still keep up with my work. Though some people at that doubtful of my decision. Some say that I must first finish and focus on my studies before I can work. But I tend to ingnore them (Not rebelling). And it earned, after I graduated, I still already have a job right away.

But as far as where I am now, I'm really glad I keep up with my job. As I am writing this blog right now in the office (Shhhh..)I've been thinking if I havent got this job or have been to a different company, then possibly It will be different story of my life (No room for regrets though ). The important is I've got a life and no matter what other people say. It is your life, your decision and wherever you are now is the result of your decisions you made...bow

Am I really Blogging?

The articles I have post are really in random basis, When I see an interesting article or topic for the web, I modify a little a paste it on my blog. Though some may think of it as a scraping of data or just plain copying of ideas (pirated).

The whole idea of blogging for me is not just about posting whatever you want in order to gain audience or visitors or worst to market or promote a site ( spamming in short). It is a way were people meet around the globe sharing ideas, experiences, happiness, joy, laughter, weird, facts coming from the people itself posting the topic in their blogs (wow thats hard).

Well the truth of the matter is blogging is just way of sending the message to the whole world that they/it exists. It really is a simple psychology where people want to see other people do stuffs (even the crazy ones). We are a curious creature you know. and what blogging is all about...

The Key to Happiness

"It requires some effort to achieve a happy outlook on life, and most people don't make it."
—Author and researcher Gregg Easterbrook

Psychologists have recently handed the keys to happiness to the public, but many people cling to gloomy ways out of habit, experts say.

Happiness is 50 percent genetic, says University of Minnesota researcher David Lykken. What you do with the other half of the challenge depends largely on determination, psychologists agree. As Abraham Lincoln once said, "Most people are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

What works, and what doesn't

Happiness does not come via prescription drugs, although 10 percent of women 18 and older and 4 percent of men take antidepressants, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Anti-depressants benefit those with mental illness but are no happiness guarantee, researchers say.

Nor will money or prosperity buy happiness for many of us. Money that lifts people out of poverty increases happiness, but after that, the better paychecks stop paying off sense-of-well-being dividends, research shows.

One route to more happiness is called "flow," an engrossing state that comes during creative or playful activity. Athletes, musicians, writers, gamers, and religious adherents know the feeling. It comes less from what you're doing than from how you do it.

It has discovered that the road toward a more satisfying and meaningful life involves a recipe repeated in schools, churches and synagogues. Make lists of things for which you're grateful in your life, practice random acts of kindness, forgive your enemies, notice life's small pleasures, take care of your health, practice positive thinking, and invest time and energy into friendships and family.

Why Blogging?

A question I also ask to myself, Honestly, I am not fund of writing articles. I got into blogging just by accident. I think of this only as a part of my work. I was assigned first in SEO(Search Engine Optimization) and I have to find a way to promote the company's site either in the no of indices and page ranks in google, It is rather a difficult task more than I thought. I have tried eveything from writing forums, social bookmarks, web directories and still not enought success.

And I have observe that blogs have a very high online traffic, and I can build links easily through posting the links of the site. I have also encountered some bloggers that are just like me in terms of field of work. It help rise my websites indices and much more, I got to meet a lot people in the web whether they are in the Philippines or not.

Blogging is not about just expressing yourself, it is a kind of lifestyle where people can share their thoughts and feelings without any hindrances or barriers.

Why Gays Don't Go Extinct

I recently found this article...

Homosexuality in males may be caused in part by genes that can increase fertility in females, according to a new study.

The findings may help solve the puzzle of why, if homosexuality is hereditary, it hasn't already disappeared from the gene pool, since gay people are less likely to reproduce than heterosexuals.

A team of researchers found that some female relatives of gay men tend to have more children than average. The scientists used a computer model to explain how two genes passed on through the maternal line could produce this effect.

In 2004 the researchers studied about 200 Italian families and found that the mothers, maternal aunts and maternal grandmothers of gay men are more fecund, or fruitful, than average. Recently, they tried to explain their findings with a number of genetic models, and found one that fit the bill.

If this scenario turns out to be true, it could help explain the seeming paradox of hereditary homosexuality. Since gay people are less likely to reproduce than heterosexuals, many experts have wondered why, if homosexuality is caused by genetic factors, it wouldn't have been eliminated from the gene pool already.

But if the same genes create both homosexuality in men and increased fertility in women, then any losses in offspring that come about from the males would be made up for by the females of the family.

?", I think it is only proportional to the growing world population.

Linux Savior Command

I have been using Linux for almost a year and during these times, I've encountered various problems in the OS ("Not the general OS in particular"), but some glitches due to my negligence sometimes. =). I like experimenting on my linux like changing colors, layouts, graphics and more.

One time, I was experimenting on running Beryl/compiz on Linux, unfortunately, I've change/overwrite some of the major settings or file in the OS, resulting from not working properly just a black screen. Thats what happens when you edited the xserver configuration or the xorg, the OS will not start as it should be. Only black screen with a prompt shell command.

I have a hardtime trouble shooting it, As well as I am not yet an experience Linux user at that time. I have search all over the net on solutions, many did not solve the problem. Then I have encountered this command which I think solve everything. The

sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Is all I need to solve. I dont if I will still elaborate it to you, maybe youll get sleepy or what, just remember Linux users if you similar problem like mine, just enter this command.

Probably one of the most important command to Linux out there. Well thats all
Happy Blog Quest!
